ANTHOLOGIE

Anthologie was a quilt along from Bari J several years ago, I think I started about 4 years ago in 2018.
I had a coveted FREE SPIRIT fat quarter bundle that was   my starting point.

Dresden Plates were fairly new to me, I had only done one before.
The centre circle is not too centred, oh well it's for only me and I don't mind.

Applique is not my strength, but I love the look, so I keep trying.

I used both regular quilting thread and perle cotton for the big stitch hand quilting.
It was fun to incorporate some embroidery around the Dresden centres and for the leafy stem.

A bit of  embroidery in the corners here too, I just love the way this block turned out.

Broderie Perse was called for in the bottom section, but I chickened out and did some hexie flowers, huts and butterflies with English Paper piecing instead.

My granddaughter jumping on all her favourite parts.
I'll always have memories of this sweetheart on my lap helping me stitch ANTHOLOGIE.

A FINISH AND A FUN NEW START

The ANTHOLOGIE quilt is hand quilted  and binding on, just waiting for a wash ..then I'll write  full post about the 3 year project.

Always a bit nerve wracking to see if all the markings will wash out.

On to the next project...

ELORI...ONCE UPON A TIME

Somebody very special turned one recently, our sweet Elori.

A memory/onesie quilt for her first birthday started out looking like a challenge.

Soon enough I had a flimsy and after handquilting, with some help from a wee  cousin, we have  a finish :)

Big brother and mommy checking it out:
