Children's Apron Tutorial Link

I found a cute and simple children's apron tutorial online.
Wow, a non-quilting project...it's been years.

My little princess enjoys helping in the kitchen and I love sharing my love of all things food related with her.     Hopefully I can instill a love of sewing as well!

In another life not all that long ago I ran a cafe for decades.  She would have loved to have been part of that adventure.

Sunday Stitchin' and Sprayin'

Some hand stitching on my binding finally.  This project has been several years in the making... it sure feels good to be at the last stage.  Can't wait to gift this one, more on that when the time comes.

Yes that is Nascar on the tv.   My husband is a huge fan and I need to keep up with it a bit since we'll be going to a race in Bristol this August.

Some spraying, YAAAAYY for basting spray.  Goodbyyyyye pins, you will not be missed!!

This HAVE FAITH quilt top was finished some time last year, it will be given to the LFQG for one of their charities.

Slow And Steady...

Working on these 1" hexies since November last year is my long term project. It's a good excuse to buy a fat quarter or two each time I'm out near fabric:)

I started the Anthologie quilt in January this year after admiring them online last year.

The end is in sight for this special project, but still a secret .... hope to be done in a month or two.  I decided to hand quilt it rather than fight with such a large quilt getting it through the throat of my machine.

Ivy's  Garden

A gift for my new granddaughter, Ivy.

The beginning of a new addiction, hehehee.   I've never tried epp till a few months ago, it's not as hard as it looks and very relaxing to do at night when I'm too tired to be sewing or cutting fabric.

I tried using glue but prefer using thread for this first step.

Backed with flannel and bound with a light orange/coral.

2018 Review

Finishes:

Finished Tops:

It is all sewn together into a topper, just trying to decide on a border or not.

Again, border or not?

My first epp project.

Too many WIPs  to list, but can't resist one shot of my next epp project, sure to be a very long term effort :

I Spy - Double Dutch

(finished)

This one took about a month to finish, much quicker than my usual snail's pace.

This will be a gift for my 2 granddaughters, one not born yet but due in Jan. I'll give it to the big sister as a gift when the baby is born, something she can share and teach to/with her little sister.

Two of each character, for a matching pairs version of an "I Spy" quilt.

Quilted with straight lines.
Backed with a soft grey checked flannel.

This is about the 3rd or 4th quilt I've spray basted and so far I'm loving the speed and ease of this method.  Not sure if I'd try that on a large quilt but for medium to small ones, it's the way to go for me!

Double Dutch - I Spy

Something to scratch off my Quilty-Bucket List, an economy block quilt.

It's also an I Spy quilt with 2 of each print, so thinking of naming it Double Dutch as an homage to my heritage.

The blocks are trimmed at 8 inches now and will finish at 7.5 inches.

Another more honest view of my mess going on in the sewing room.

A few of my favourites:

Now to join the blocks into a top. Any suggestions on pressing these seams?  Hopefully it won't be too bulky where the points meet.
