STASHBOX STARS

(REVERSABLE)

The front           ( which you can read more about here  http://karenbbsnow.blogspot.ca/2016/02/36-patch-it-started-with-one-of-these.html )

The back:

The back was supposed to be just some scraps sewn together, but I got carried away with this modified bento-box pattern I found on-line.  I had plenty in my stash so I just kept going with it.  Now I kind of like the back better than the front.... It seems much more calm and relaxing for a bedroom than the front.

I stitched in the ditch around the main blocks, but all the other quilting is done by hand.  It took 5 months, all worth it :)

Finishing up at 78 x 78 before washing

  1. I love the combination of colour and b & w on the starry side - how pretty! Congrats on a happy finish. :)
Thanks for visiting my blog earlier, Karen. I only mention it because you come up as a "no reply" blogger so I can't respond by email, and I wanted you to know that I appreciate your kind words. Thanks again!

  2. Both sides ARE wonderful. It's hard to pick a favorite, but atleast YOU don't have to.

I love the look of the scrappy coloring inside all that black and white of the first side.

And I recently got carried away on the piecing of a back, too. But I just love it when quilts have multi-interest. For instance, the close-up and the far-off views of your big sashing fabric on the first side are amazingly different. I had to keep going back and forth to make myself believe that it was the same fabric.
