2021, Here We Go!

Being that this is going to be another stressful year dealing with all things Covid, my main quilting goal is to have fun, keep busy and avoid any extra stress.

So, for fun I started these mini 3 inch house blocks ...fun and addictive!

I've been wanting to join in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge and this project will be part of that challenge.  Check out the link below to see what everyone else is making with their colour for the month.  January's colour is pink:

Theres always lots of inspiration ... thanks Angela for putting this together every Saturday!

The next 2 quilts were pieced by another member of our local quilt guild and finished by me.

I started out machine quilting in the lighter areas and ended up hand quilting in the dark areas.

The 2nd one is all machine quilted ...

in a wonky grid.

    1. Thanks Jenny, I wish my neighbourhood was this colourful. Right now it's very white here and very pretty until it turns to slush.

  10. I have 191 of those houses!! (I did the math: you need 400 to make a 60”x60” quilt...)

    1. Patrice , I think I have about 80 so far. They may end up in a row quilt with other blocks that catch my fancy.

  11. Adorable houses! I really like how you sprinkled the other colors in with the pink. I like your hand quilting, too. I love hand quilting, but in my hurry to get things done, I often choose machine. This is a wonderful way to add in just enough to enjoy it without committing months to a quilt project.

    1. Thanks JanineMarie. My sewing machine has a small throat so machine quilting is a challenge. I started hand quilting for that reason, and fell in love with the process. Maybe one day I'll splurge on a second machine with a larger throat.... a girl's gotta dream :)
